Over the last few years the TOM FORD Private Blend collection has expanded rapidly – some I love, some I don’t love as much. However, I will nail my colours to the mast and say this launch, particularly the Vert D’Encens, is my favourite fragrance launch in a very, very long time – to me this tops Tobacco Vanille.
With these two new permanent fixtures to the Private Blend Colllection, there’s also Vert de Fleur – floral notes, galbanum and vetiver; and Vert Bohème, another stunning addition, green florals with honeysuckle, magnolia, violet leaf, galbanum, sicilian mandarin and woods.

TOM FORD Private Blend Vert D’Encens
I just can’t. This… just… I can’t. If I could break through your screen and spray you with this, I would – you need to experience this. It’s everything beautiful about a strong masculine fragrance but also has all the sweetness, amber/sweet incense you could ever need – not only that but the whole juice is encapsulated in greens. This isn’t a 2D, 3D or even 4D frarance – Vert D’Encens is IMAX for the nose.

There’s balsam, pine, wood resin, incense, heliotrope, woodsy notes and boxwood. As we leave summer and head straight into autumn and winter, this is perfect encompassing the changing seasons whilst keeping you warm in the colder months.
TOM FORD Private Blend Vert Des Bois
Opening with an almost soapy Poplar and Anise-like accord strengthened with patchouli. It’s pumped with a light plum and olive leaf, intertwined with jasmine and green mastic all propped up with a roasted tonka bean. It’s almost metalic and a very bohemian; a modern spin on 70’s classics – I can almost hear Demis Roussos in the background.

Again, this is just incredible and is the clean to the to the stickiness and the to the business to the play of Vert D’Encens. Definitely a fragrance for a clean suit – it’s powerful, in control and sexy as all hell. If either of these aren’t on your Christmas list, we need words!
