Joico Matte Grip Texture Creme

Did you know, and I think I have this the right way around, that JOICO used to own Fudge Hair total load of old rubbish apparently, BUT, both were once distributed by the same company, Sabre. Now, if you’ve not used JOICO before, as I hadn’t, they’re a masstige brand (in-between mass and prestige) with a range of targeted and effective haircare and styling products for both men and women.

JOICO Matte Grip Texture Creme is a medium hold, matte-effect cream that’s perfect for fine to medium thickness hair for creating gorgeous texture that stays in place and looks/feels thicker.

I honestly thought it was going to be too lightweight for my hair, so decided to take it to my hair stylist Tom Gilling (@gilling89) who’s a session stylist for both Unite and Fudge to see what he could do with it. Before applying the product he dusted my hair with a little volume powder (any will do; check out my review of Fudge’s here) and then worked the JOICO Matte Grip Texture Creme in with the powder to create texture up top [see photo above].

It really works! My hair was volumised and thickened by both products and the Matt Grip Creme kept the style in place without it looking and feeling plastic and hard. I really noticed a beneficial difference using JOICO Matte Grip Texture Creme rather than some of the other clays and creams I’ve tried in the past.

JOICO Matte Grip Texture Creme is available for £9.44 here from Beauty Bay (in the sale) or £11.95 here from Look Fantastic.
