I love, love, love Paco Rabanne 1 Million. I initially avoided it during its first launch because it was everywhere and I find myself less attracted to beauty and grooming products that everyone knows about. My first contact with the fragrance was with the 1 Million Absolutely Gold, featuring in last year’s Christmas Gift Guide. The Intense edition is very similar but more, well, intense.

With top notes of blood mandarin, cardamom, black pepper and saffron; a middle heart of rose absolute, neroli and cinnamon; all supported on a base of white leather, orris root, patchouli and sandalwood. It’s a little spicy, fruity and floral all at the same time whilst retaining real masculinity.
The Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense bottle, as always, comes in the shape of a bar of gold bullion. It feels great in the hand and being made of solid glass, it looks great when pulled out of your bag at the gym or on the go.
Even though it’s lighter than the Absolutely Gold and more intense than the original, I still think this is perfectly fitting for a summer fragrance with the prominent cinnamon, leather and rose really lifting it out of its heady musk. It also lasts for a good few hours, more so than it’s counterparts and there’s still a definite scent left on the skin by the end of the day.
If you’re a fan of the original or are enticed to start here, Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense is available here for £34.99 from John Lewis. So, are you an existing fan of 1 Million? Are there any other Paco Rabanne favourites you’d recommend?
