Lynx Peace: Peace For A Week

Untitled-1-Recovered

Peace For A Week

If you haven’t already, check out the first of my two parter on Lynx Peace, here. My challenge set by Lynx was to do something peaceful that incorporated fashion, music, photography and an act of kindness, all in the spirit of peace.

Peace Toolkit

Lynx sent me a fabulous mission-kit containing a plain white T-Shirt; fabric spray paint; iTunes music voucher; Polaroid camera and the Lynx Peace collection – all to help me on my mission by incorporating photography, fashion and music.

For my T-Shirt, I created a custom stencil and spray painted the design on my driveway in the windiest weather imaginable. Needless to say, this was one time where I definitely didn’t feel peaceful!

When cutting, designing, spraying and driving I created myself a fab playlist that you can find on the Spotify window there on the right; there’s a whole mix of upbeat gems that I think you’ll love.

Check out how I went on with my photo collage above featuring photos and scanned Polaroids of my peace mission.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it

So, I decided to spread the love by giving some clothes to my favourite charity store; Kirkwood Hospice who provide specialist care for people in West Yorkshire facing life-threatening illnesses.

Now if Mary Portas has taught me anything, it’s that you don’t give rubbish to charity stores; give things you’d want to buy!

With this in mind, I put together a few bags of clothes that just don’t fit me anymore (too large – hurrah!). There were All Saints jeans and jumpers in there; GAP shoes (bought and never worn); UGG boots (self-explanatory) and all sorts of other bits and pieces that I hoped would sell well.

As well as my donation, the absolutely amazing guys at Lynx and Mischief PR provided Kirkwood Hospice with a whole load of Lynx Peace products to do with as they wished. They’ve decided to use the products to entice people to buy tickets for their lottery fundraising campaign. Huge thanks to Maxine, Marion and Jim for being such good sports; we had a great laugh when I popped in.

How can you join in?

Firstly, be sure to try out the Lynx Peace range, I’ve gone into a little more detail about the products and fragrance here in my previous Lynx Peace post. There’s also loads to look at with fashion, music and photography at lynxpeace.com and finally be sure to like the Lynx Facebook page for all the latest updates and campaign information at facebook.com/lynxeffect. Join in, share your talents and promote peace in any way you can; from street art to simple, random acts of kindness. Make love, not war – make peace.

I’ve been using axe peace whilst living out over here in Spain and love it, so much different to the usual products. Also really like the video, it’s quite emotional.
