Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

As far as I’ve come across, not many men exfoliate their body and it’s viewed by many as being an unnecessary pampification (made that up, gonna use that from now on) leaving Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream being something alien. Although in some cases, I probably agree, but for any slightly harrier men, that often suffer with ingrowing hairs, exfoliation is the prevention and the cure. By using a body exfoliator, once or twice a week, you remove excess dead skin, freeing up the hair follicle, preventing ingrown hairs as well as occasional body spots.

I would NOT however, recommend exfoliation of this sort if you are suffering with an outbreak of spots on the body, such as the dreaded bacne (acne of the back), which is very common in many people, as this will have an adverse effect, and should never be scrubbed, also doctors guidance should be sought after as this often requires a prescriptive treatment. But for one of two little surface spots that build up on the skin, it’s often the root of a build up of dead skin cells.

After almost 5 years in the biz, I have tried so many body exfoliators, claiming to do all different things. Some offer to moisturise, some offer to sooth, some have a nice smell, and some not so much. All I want is a product that when applied to damp skin, does not slide off with the constancy of snot, and will actually give me a good ol’ scrub, something I can really feel. I remember, I had this Boots botanics one (I know, I was younger and more naive), and I couldn’t get the damn thing off, I had to wash myself 4 times to stop feeling sticky, it was gross; not sure they still sell it, I bloody hope not!

Clinique’s Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream has to be one of the best I’ve come across on my mission for exfoliators. When you apply it to damp skin, or even wet skin, it sticks very nicely, and allows you to massage it in without falling off and disappearing. It feels very mentholated on the skin, and really feels very cleansing as well as foaming ever so slightly. A note for men, and probably the ladies as well, just try not to let the product get near your, erm, area, the reason being that, it won’t do any harm unless you actually scrub it, but the menthol freshness can be a little powerful for a while. It rinses off relatively easily, and your skin afterwards, my god, really smooth and fresh, with no residue of product or little flecks of salt all over the place. Because I don’t get particularly dry skin on my body, even after a scrub, I often don’t bother with a moisturiser, but I’m still on the look out for the perfect body gel moisturiser, just for a little boost and that sinks in lightening fast, doesn’t feel sticky, or smell too bad.

Definitely worth investing!
