Biotherm Homme Total Perfector Skin Optimizing Moisturizer is cool; it’s just a cool product. I know that sounds like a bit of Billy BS, but it really is – it even has a cool video [below]. Designed for all skin types, although I’d say it’s more for normal/oily skin, it hydrates, smooths, brightens and protects (not with SPF, but more barrier protection).

Non-sticky, non-greasy and non-shiny, this lightweight yet nourishing gel-cream texture really sinks into the skin leaving it well hydrated and soft. It contains a chemical exfoliant to ensure that throughout the day, skin cells turnover evenly and spot-causing blockages are prevented. With glycerin to moisturise, the main active ingredient is Padina Pavonica sea algae, helping to stimulate skin cell renewal and structural regeneration.

Now I’m normally a bit of a #SkincareNazi when it comes to fragrance in products, but Biotherm, being the oddballs they are, have taken fragrance one step further, creating a bespoke, ice scent to set the whole thing off. Top notes of marine accords, pear, ginger, coriander; a heart of icy mint, lavender , cucumber and a base of musk, sandalwood , cedarwood, amber. It’s quite gorgeous and even on my sensitive skin, it doesn’t cause any adverse reactions.

It feels wonderful to apply. When you pump it into the hand, it feels rich and thick, but as you apply it to the skin, it melts into a gorgeous gel that deliciously sinks into the skin’s surface, filling in all that intercellular space with lovely, hydrating moisture. Skin is left looking fresh but mattified.

At the moment you can pick up Biotherm Homme Total Perfector at a reduced price of £35.10 here from Feel Unique or for the RRP price of £39 here at House of Fraser.
