Over the last few years, I’ve developed a tiny little bit of eczema on my right hand. Now this has to be cared for, moisturised and gently exfoliated to coax away the build of of dead skin cells. The problem is however, I hate hand creams; they really wind me up.

I use my hands a lot, particularly on computers and also in testing a lot of other products which is made ne’er impossible when your hands are slarted up with the greasiest concoction of slimy, smelly mess that get’s all over your keyboard and mouse, interfering with everything you touch. So I was sent this from Brummells of London – the Grown Vanilla & Orange Peel hand cream, was this going to be just the same?
Firstly the fragrance, oh my god, the fragrance. It basically is the scent of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange with the most beautiful vanilla and orange peel coupled with almond oil, sugar cane, shea – all featuring among an enormous array of natural extracts. There’s also a high percentage of Aloe, bio-actives such as grape seed, wheatgerm and rosehip oil, all really powerful natural anti-oxidants protecting your skin against the harmful effects of free-radicals (it’s easier if you just Google it). Finally Sea Buckthorn Berry is rich with Omega 3 and 6, leaving you soft and smooth.
The application. It’s squeezed out as a beige, gel-cream. As you immediately work it in, it feels quite rich and alarm bells rang for just a split second, but then, like magic, it penetrates your skin and leaves it completely non-greasy but 100% moisturiser. A couple of my eczema patches have disappeared since using this and I believe that to be the ultimate test.
I’m almost to the end of my tube and I think there’s going to be tears when I’m no longer able to get any more out of it. It’s truly the best hand cream I’ve used to date and perfect for us guys who tend to have much thicker and tougher skin on our hands so need something nourishing but non-greasy. Pick it up here from Brummell’s starting at only £14 which I think is a great price for what you’re getting.
