Floris London NEW Private Collection Bergamotto Di Positano

I’ve definitely found my summer splash. Bergamotto Di Positano is a relaunch of the April 2015 hand-poured By Request fragrance, brought into the Private Collection. It’s definitely not just another Italian Cologne, and takes all the best elements combined with a slightly spiced creaminess.

Bergamotto di Positano is a homage to Charles Joseph Pagliano, who in the early 19th century left the enclave of the small fishing village on the Amalfi coast to travel to England and marry his sweetheart ‘Mary Floris’. Mary was a key member of the Floris family who lived and worked for many years for the family business at 89 Jermyn Street.

Bergamotto Di Positano features top notes of bergamot, marine and mandarin; a heart of green tea, orange blossom, ginger and vanilla with a base of amber, spice, ambrette, woods and a touch more vanilla.

It wears beautifully as a unisex fragrance. Whilst retaining the Italian heritage, there is something distinctly British about it and isn’t as ‘fruity’ as many other Italian colognes being more balanced and structured. It lasts a good long while on the skin, retaining its initial construct.

Bergamotto Di Positano will be available for £120/100ml here at Floris London from May 2016.
