Crème de la Mer The Eye Concentrate

I’ve felt really run down lately. I think it’s likely to do with the awful weather; lack of sunlight; I probably should be eating a little better during the day if I’m honest and if you follow me on Twitter you’ll see I’ve had the odd bit minor surgery on my foot; needless to say I’ve felt a bit “bleurgh”. Now the first place most people show signs of being run down is around the eyes, great big dark patches under both and boy do I have them. So will a £125 eye cream make a difference?

Crème de la Mer The Eye Concentrate is designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, lines and wrinkles, whilst encouraging the eye area to look healthy, luminous and feel supple. This is a tall order from an eye-cream but I’m never ceased by how on my skin, their products really deliver everything they promise

You may have read my review on The Eye Balm Intense, an ultra-rich and hydrating eye balm that leaves skin relaxed and calm. This is a little different, it feels more invigorating and energising, it’s hard to describe. On contact it tingles (a good tingle not a bad tingle) and as you start to work it into the skin using the metal applicator, your skin cells and eye area appears to all stand to attention! Looking in the mirror everything looks lifted, smoothed and firmed. The effects are really that immediate.

I’ve used it every night, applying it a little more liberally than you would probably want to during the day, although still using a comparatively tiny amount (seriously this pot should last a good few months). By the next morning, however rough you’re feeling, things seem brighter and uplifted, which is seriously just because of an improvement to the eye area, with guys, it’s often just that simple.

So the formulation. As I mentioned this is a little more active which is due to the high concentration of the Miracle Broth™, the source of Crème de la Mer’s power. The Miracle Broth™ is a patented formulation created by the company’s founder, Dr. Max Huber. The really cool thing is that since the first batch, every subsequent batch of the broth has a little bit saved each time, this is then used to perfectly synthesise the next; it is said that every one of Crème de la Mer’s products contains a trace of the original formulation. Cool huh? However this time, as well as coming in its original form, The Miracle Broth™ is also in an encapsulated, time-release form that gets to work through the course of the day/night. The formulation is designed to kick-start skin cell renewal as well as promote the regrowth of elastin and collagen. It’s filled with anti-oxidants and is scented by the delicious aroma of the patented Lime Tea Extract™.

So writing this whilst looking across at my mirror, I definitely feel uplifted and fresher faced and if I’ve temped you to try it out, you can pick up Crème de la Mer The Eye Concentrate here at John Lewis for £125.
