Launched three years after I was born, this is one of Clinique’s hidden gems and you’ll find it tucked away at the bottom of your local Clinique counter’s Skin Supplies for Men display. The fact they’ve not updated the Clinique logo on the packaging (it’s the old bold logo) always made me think it was about to be imminently discontinued, but I have it on the highest authority that it isn’t.
Clinique Chemistry for Men is so 90’s, and in the early 2000’s a fragrance like this wouldn’t have stood a chance, but with the revival of the gentleman, this has once again come into a world of its own. It’s sexy as F.
With top notes of lavender, mint, neroli and lemon; a heart notes are cyclamen, coriander, ginger and pepper and a base of sandalwood, musk, oakmoss, cedar and amber. The notes that emerge the quickest and stay with you throughout the rest of the day are the fresh mint and spicy ginger.
Any man wearing this better watch out as a flock of women (and men, including myself) will flock towards you like the Wicked Witch’s ravenous flying monkeys. It’s sporty, it’s masculine, it’s fresh, it’s cool and in-keeping with the Clinique brand, it’s clean – oh so crispy clean.
