Bobbi Brown Studio – Harvey Nichols, Manchester

On Tuesday evening, I was lucky enough to be invited to an intimate press event at Harvey Nichols – Manchester, to check out the new Bobbi Brown makeup studio whilst checking out their great new products including the new Long Wear Even Finish Foundation (with SPF 15) and BB Creams.

The counter has been open for a month and looks absolutely gorgeous, decked out in gloss black and marble with wood and marble makeup units – substantial and solid, bet classy and elegant.

I was invited to sit down and I was treated to a full consultation and application with a combination of Long Wear Even Finish Foundation and BB Cream, whilst I was taught some amazing tips and techniques.

My absolute favourite tip was on how to refresh and re-activate your foundation base throughout the day by rubbing one of the the Bobbi Brown balms in between your palm tops and finger, and then pressing it into the skin – it looks amazing, and leaves your skin looking dewy fresh once more.

At the counter, they had, which if I remember rightly it’s the first in the country, a blog wall – an enormous touch screen monitor displaying Bobbi’s personal blog that you can fully interact with and see where’s she’s at and what she’s up to; effectively stalking her. I love it. Click here to have a look, I think you’ll love it; it’s so inspirational, you’ll be hooked.

There were loads of other great innovations to the counter, including a beauty console for the more experienced client where they can stand and try out there own makeup looks, and for more inspiration, there’s a video panel embedded in the centre displaying makeup video tutorials.

After having a great men’s cover tutorial, I was then told all about their skincare, which I’ve used some of, but not that much and I’ve honestly been missing out. Because obviously Bobbi Brown is a makeup company, their skincare has been designed with this in mind, giving great long term benefits, but importantly priming the skin straight away ready for makeup. I got a few samples I’m currently trying out and if they live up to their impressive description, they’ll be up here on Manface soon enough.

Finally, my most favourite design accent of all was the neon light of Bobbi’s signature against the wall behind the till, layered on top of a collection of photos of Bobbi herself, getting up to her makeup shenanigans.

If you’re new to makeup, or want to try out their beautiful line of skincare, then get yourself down to Bobbi Brown at Harvey Nichols in Manchester, there’s an army of the nicest, most welcoming and highly trained makeup artists, the best that Manchester has to offer and if you do go, post me a comment and let me know how it was!

Too bloomin’ right haha! I mean we’re the only city in the country to have 2 SELFRIDGES yet press events are minimal.

I’d come to more down south if PRs would pay for my train ticket, but it hardly seems worth travelling across the country and at great expense for a pot of cream, a release paper and a glass of cava haha!

Yay! Finally a non-London event for you. Looks like your northern bloggers post caught someone’s attention. Sounds like you had fun, let’s hope this is the start of more to come.
