Fragrancing Your Life with Aqua Universalis

Aqua Universalis, Universal Water, by Maison Francis Kurkdjian has been part of my family for almost 5 years now. I use it, Chris uses it, Mum swears by it and my Stepdad loves it. It’s a fragrance that has become synonymous with everything that’s clean and sparkles. But why?

A Lifestyle Fragrance

Aqua Universalis has one of the largest collection of truly luxurious ancillaries I’ve ever seen in a single fragrance. This includes body cleansers, a lotion, candle, fabric detergent and fabric conditioner, travel sizes and 3 different fragrance variations – Aqua Universalis, Aqua Universalis Forte and Aqua Universalis Extrait de Parfum – a £1,200 bottle of the highest fragrance extract concentrations.

Unlike many fragrance brands, each ancillary has been created thoughtfully, to be a great product in its own right, rather than than a subpar product relying solely on the fragrance inside.

What makes Aqua Universalis so special?

There are so many Italian-style colognes out there, some really good ones in fact with Acqua di Parma, 4711 and Neroli Portofino coming immediately to mind. But Aqua Universalis brings more than simple lemon, bergamot, herbal and citrus notes – it’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Although Aqua Universalis does contain some of these common notes, there’s something special that gives sparkle, cream, freshness, and even a little warmth – it’s a wildly three dimensional fragrance that needs to be experienced to be believed. It really is that certain magic that Francis brings to his fragrances.

  • Amalfi Lemon
  • Orange
  • Orange Blossom
  • Calibrian Bergamot
  • Lilly of The Valley
  • Musk (artificial source)
  • Woodsy Notes

Aqua Universalis is my absolute go-to fragrance. When I just want to smell fresh at any time of the day, before bed, before going out or just wanting to freshen up – it’s always there, ready and waiting to give cheer, luminescence and luxury.

Aqua Universalis Forte

I’m not going to delve into the Extrait de Parfum too much due to its availability and understandably awesome price point. However, Aqua Universalis Forte, an equally accessible fragrance to the original takes things a step further.

Aqua Universalis Forte gives additions of Moroccan Rose and Egyptian Jasmine absolues, adding yet another dimension to an already glorious fragrance. Don’t be fooled into thinking these notes ‘feminise’ the fragrance, instead they give it strength and a soft exuberance.
