In the ever-unpredictable saga of my skincare routine, a plot twist emerged courtesy of my eczema medication – a full facial rebellion. And so a fortuitous revisit to an old favourite – Perricone MD, specifically to the long-windedly named: Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Hydrating Complex.

Dryness and sensitivity became my every day and not something I’ve ever been used to. My beloved La Mer products set my skin off in red blotches and I almost exhausted my skincare cupboards looking for something to sooth and hydrated. I came up empty handed so it was off to find something new.

Why I Chose Perricone’s Intensive Hydrating Complex

My decision to go for Perricone’s Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Hydrating Complex was straightforward. Having had positive experiences with Perricone in the past, I trusted the brand and their male-skin offering (although this is very much a unisex product).

The product’s ingredient list was particularly appealing: it promised hydration without clogging pores, thanks to ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, and vegetable triglycerides.

The addition of Vitamin C for a touch of radiance and peptides for hydration and skin strength was exactly what I needed. It seemed like the right choice for my skin’s new demands.

What are some of Perricone’s key ingredients?

Once I purchased the, deep-breath, Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Hydrating Complex, I was keen to see how its ingredients would fare for a man’s skin – this man’s skin to be precise!

  • Sodium Hyaluronate: A hydration powerhouse, great for drawing moisture into the typically thicker epidermis of male skin.
  • Copper Tripeptide-1: A skin-repairing and anti-aging component, essential for maintaining robust skin.
  • Dimethicone: Smoothes skin texture and locks in moisture, a big plus for men who prefer a non-greasy feel.
  • Glycolic Acid: A chemical exfoliant, it keeps the skin clear and even, particularly effective for men dealing with rough or uneven skin texture, blackheads and occasional blemishes.

Each ingredient is specifically beneficial, enhancing the product’s effectiveness for pretty much any man’s skincare regime.

It’s all about texture

The texture of the Intensive Hydrating Complex is a key winner for me. It’s reminiscent of the margarine-like consistency of the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base, which I recently indulged in. What sets these two products apart is how they melt into the skin.

There’s no lingering greasiness or heaviness; it just vanishes, leaving the skin feeling nourished but not overloaded. This product really sinks in, delivering its hydrating and nourishing benefits throughout the day, making it a standout in terms of texture and performance.

Price Point, Hotdog and a Bargain

Regarding the price, the Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Hydrating Complex certainly raises eyebrows with its £156 RRP tag for a 59ml pot on Perricone’s own website. While the cost reflects its quality, it’s a hefty sum.

Yet, there’s a silver lining – I’ve snagged the same product from Costco for a more wallet-friendly £49.99. How they manage this price is a mystery, but I’m not questioning it! For me, grabbing this skincare gem at a bargain and pairing it with a £1.50 hotdog makes for a perfect day. If this is ever removed from their warehouse, I’ll revolt.

In Conclusion

The Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Hydrating Complex stands out as an excellent choice for most men’s skincare routines and reaffirms why I continue to have great trust in Perricone MD.

Its effectiveness in tackling dryness and sensitivity, combined with a texture that’s easy on the skin, aligns well with the practical needs of men. The product offers a blend of ingredients beneficial for anyone looking to enhance their skincare routine, all while being a savvy, cost-effective find at Costco.
