Not On The High Street

I love personalised gifts, but unfortunately many of them can be incredibly tacky and despite being personalised, appear increadibly mass produced. Do you know what I mean? Well I’ve found a solution and it’s called notonthehighstreet.com, an incredible site filled with hard to find, gorgeous and unique gifts, many of which can be personalised. It works very similar to Etsy, there being a whole variety of different sellers and manufacturer; the difference being that the items here are definitely luxurious and premium quality.

The company started back in April 2006,  brings together over 3,000 independent small UK businesses that combined sell over 50,000 products receiving over 24 awards for entrepreneurship and customer service and was most recently ranked the 1st retailer and 9th overall in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.  It was also ranked 8th in Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 as well as 40th in their Fast 500 EMEA, with only seven UK-based companies placed ahead of them.  Notonthehighstreet.com was also named 16th in Media Momentum’s 2011 Top 50 of the hottest digital media companies in Europe. Amazing!

I ordered the item to the left for my other half, he’s Mr. Walsh, a personalised Diary by Hope House Press, you can see the item here. Still being sceptical, I didn’t know what would arrive, but needless to say I wasn’t disappointed. The diary has a beautiful leather cover that smells unbelievable, the pages are of a thick, good quality paper with a great diary layout. The message I had personalised is on the left side of the front cover and you can have up to around 27 characters depending on which option you choose (there are many).

The diary turned up inside a brown protective box, which when opened, held a beautiful white, black ribboned, box with two dark chocolates sitting on top. Inside the diary is wrapped in white tissue paper with a Hope House Press sticker keeping it together. At £50, this is something I can imagine paying a lot more for at a any luxury department store and that’s without the customisation!

Definitely have a browse through as there is so much to choose from, too much actually as I think you’ll be hard pressed to narrow your choices down to just one item, it almost killed me doing so!
