Lacura Aqua Complete Moisturiser

Last Sunday’s #bbloggers (a get together on twitter of beauty and style bloggers at 8pm every sunday) topic was on Mass Brands Vs. Prestige and has inspired me to write this post.

Now I have always been a devout user of prestige brands, in particular Clinique, not just because the products are great for my skin, but in the long run, they are much cheaper and who can knock the might of Creme de la Mer?

I thought however, it was about time I reviewed a mass brand product as there is some pretty decent stuff out there, so I’ve chosen Lacura’s Aqua-Complete Moisturiser from Aldi. Now many of you may not have heard of Lacura, but it’s something I’ve been aware of for a while. I am an ardant shopper in Aldi thanks to my mother, as I, like her, believe their grocery products are fantastic and a fraction of the price, and this is basically their own brand.

The moisturiser is advertised as being for all skin types and comes in a glass pot sold in a lovely packaging, which is not important I know, but it does add to the overall feel and branding.

I used it after using my Clinique facial soap and clarifying lotion, replacing my moisturiser with it. This is not something I would do or recommend for any 3-Step users, but I did this for the benefits of testing the product.

Well it feels very soft on the skin, sinks in like a dream and really soothes the burn I get from shaving as well as leaving it feeling very hydrated. The product is slightly heavy on my oily-combination skin, not that it leaves it shiny, but just a slightly tacky feeling, although this doesn’t deter a fuss-pot like me.

It contains fantastic ingredients such as our good old friend Glycerin, then Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium (some of the hydrating minerals) and Papaya Extract. The only downside in my opinion is there is a small fragrance content, but it’s virtually undetectable, and my skin, which normally flares up to fragrance, was fine!

This amazing product is £1.99 from Aldi! I mean, it’s ridiculous, for everything you’re getting, it’s a bargain. You HAVE to try this!
