Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase

I have a combination / oily skin, therefore most products designed for this skin type tend to be oil free, which is brilliant as my skin needs anything but more oil. The downside of the products oil reducing abilities as it can leave skin really dehydrated as mine is.

For more more information on dehydrated skin, I posted about it a few days ago, click here.

This serum, the Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase, is part of Clarins’ excellent hydration range, HydraQuench. Despite being rich in Omega-3, there’s no hint of the smell of fish! Inca Peanut oil helps to restore skin’s natural moisture barrier and is completely non greasy. Hyaluronic Acid and Katafray bark extract are the humectants in this product, powerfully binding water to the skin cells, making sure that hydration is locked in. Finally Alfalfa replumps the skin and smooths out any of those dehydrated lines that can build up as skin becomes more tired and lacklustre.

You only need one pump in my opinion, and if you have a moisturiser without SPF then you can apply it over the top and if it has SPF then make sure it goes underneath. My skin was left feeling really soothed after I’d gone overboard using my new Clarisonic (post coming soon), where instead of using it 10 seconds on the cheek, 20 on the forehead and 20 on the nose and chin, decided to be a dick and use it for a minute on each, so you can imagine.

This serum did a bang up job of repairing my moisture barrier and locking all that comforted hydration back into my skin. Good job. Check out the Clarins website I’ve linked to below as there’s a brilliant video of how to apply the product which I quite enjoyed.
