There was one particular fragrance I had in mind for this award but after thinking about it and mulling it over, it’s being awarded to both the product and the brand.

So the winner of Best Fragrance goes to Maison Francis Kurkdjian, an exquisite producer of fine fragrances and scents. The individual fragrance that has really made an impact on me this year was Pour Le Soir, a deep and warm fragrance powered by incense and Bulgarian Rose Honey. So many people have asked me what fragrance I was wearing whilst having this on and it left a few people scrambling for a pen and paper to write it down; you can’t get a better compliment than that surely? As well as the wearable fragrance, there’s also an beautiful accompanying candle.

As well as Pour Le Soir, there’s Acqua Universalis is a soft day fragrance, comprised of bergamot, Sicilian lemon, lily of the valley, sweet orange and blond musky wood. It’s light but not bland, subtle but not indistinct. Housed in the same luxurious glass grenade with solid metal top, it really makes a statement when you bring this out of your bag (although I hate carrying it around with me as if I lost it, I’d never be able to move on).

If you’re sick of the usual high street scents and want something more unique to deliver a statement, then Maison Francis Kurkdijan should be your first port of call. Congratulations to Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
