When does MANFACE collect personal information?

Was in which readers provide personal information to MANFACE include (but are not limited to): (1) by sharing your email address when subscribing to email updates, (2) by sharing personal information through contacting MANFACE directly through email, or (3) by sharing personal details when leaving a comment on a post.

What information is gathered?

In addition to the details described above, log files and analytics trackers used by this website store details such as the visitor’s IP address, referring page and time of visit. Cookies may be used to remember visitor preferences when interacting with the website.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognise your browser and capture and remember certain information. They are used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services.

We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

Google Tag Manager

MANFACE uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows marketed website tags to be managed using an interface. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-less domain and does not register personal data. The tool causes other tags to be activated which may, for their part, register data under certain circumstances. Google Tag Manager does not access this information. If recording has been deactivated on domain or cookie level, this setting will remain in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

Google Analytics

MANFACE collects information about your computer, including but not limited to your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and in order to create reports. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so that they can improve it.

Like many services, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to track visitor interactions as in our case, where they are used to collect information about how visitors use MANFACE. We then use the information to compile reports and to help us improve our site.

Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how you visit our site – for more information on opting out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites you use, visit this Google page.

How is the information used?

The information is used to enhance the visitor’s experience when using the website to display personalised content and possibly advertising. Contact information is occasionally gathered for giveaways, and used to contact the winner at the conclusion of the contest.

E-mail addresses will not be sold, rented or leased to 3rd parties.

Affiliate Links

Some articles contain affiliate links. These are links from products to online stores such as John Lewis – my main link of choice as they’re one of my favourite beauty retailers. When you click on one of these links, it lets the online shop know that the link you’ve clicked has come from me, and if you end up buying something I’m usually given a small percentage as a referral from the retailer. This costs you nothing and is a great way for me to earn a little something from the blog; the amount I receive monthly usually covers hosting and technical costs for the site.
