Continuing on the theme of the last post, blemished skin, I always find it difficult finding a night treatment.
During the day your skin is in protect-mode and during the night it's in repair-mode. During the day you'll always need something lighter that will just maintian natural barrier function and doesn't really need many treatment benefits other than balancing oil and water. At night, your skin becomes more absorbent and will take on more treatment benefits and more hydration/moisture to set itself up for the next day.
Now if you have a normal/dry skin type, the possibilities are absolutely endless as to what you can use of an evening. If however, your skin is oily and/or blemished, there seems to be very little choice at all, often needing to resort to just using a day cream at night.
The Body Shop have produced however, a fabulous spot treating night cream that fights bacteria using tea-tree, lemon and tamanu oil to sooth, reduce and repair. Unlike most night creams suited to a oil/blemished skin type, this product feels rich and soothing, not some piddly gel that leaves you oil-reduced but dehydrated, but intensely and non-comodogenically moisturising.
I use it as part of my Anti-Blemish 3 step and it really works well, your skin does look a little plumper by the morning and it definitely does look less spotty which during exam season is a massive plus.
